Bob's is very similar in shape! I just looked up on wiki [link] and I'm not sure if we might have actually seen Bob's bridge...as we were kind of on our way to Asheboro...we were south/west of Raleigh - it was in a private park with a pond and other historical buildings across the road from the bridge that was "closed" so didn't spend much time there. I got a couple shots of it but there are now gates and stairs and dirt berms so it felt too "restored" for our tastes  Did we walk the same grounds? LOL Nope - just read further down into the comments on Bob's - 3/4 mile walk..."our's" was right on the road...

This one is west toward Asheville... [link] - we noticed the graffiti too which is why I chose this shot to post :giggle: It also had a little bit of a walk back to it and closed at dusk - we weren't sure "when" that was plus the mosquitoes were fierce so we didn't hang around long...again not a patient photographer especially with the treat of being locked in AND eaten alive

 very interesting! :D
Yes, the mosquito is the unofficial state bird of many Southern states! :lmao: If you think they're big in North Carolina... you ain't seen nuttin' yet... until you see them in Louisiana! They should have call signs and ask for clearances from the tower! :D Fortunately, the mosquito hawks are just as big, and take their job quite seriously :XD:

NC actually resembles Connecticut in many areas.. lots of history too

In the terms of distance it isn't all that far away :D (I was actually born in CT - we lived in Branford but I was born in New Haven as things were much more rural a half century ago

Oh cool.. I'm 13 miles from New Haven.. and it was.. and the amusement parks were still here then too. Savin Rock up there and Pleasure Beach here in Bridgeport.. I loved both..

it was fun following signs! NC is much better at pointing things out to the tourists than CA
