The famed Cape Hatteras lighthouse against sea oats on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

The sky was covered with high, thin clouds due to a hurricane passing down in Florida - kept the temperatures a bit cooler but sure messed with the light...

sigh, never actually been to the barrier islands...the whole 7 years on the coast we kept talking about it but never made it

Thanks! The light was really flat due to high clouds from Hurricane Carol down in FL so it was challenging... but I kept seeing good shots, visually, so I kept shooting and loved this one the best :D

It's a very interesting light.. several years back they moved it inland from its original location to save it.. quite an undertaking
