I wish I were there, I can almost taste the cold clear water. I wouldn't be able to resist putting my feet in!

It was hard to resist :giggle: but with the little one there we had to not as he would have been in over his head in a flash

This is also beautiful, I think in fact I prefer this photo to the other one because of the blue hues in it, I can definitely see a painting there, but I don't think I would include the people.

I like this one better too, I think the color difference comes from how I had to process the other to get rid of the heavy sun flare and back lighting, I wanted to show more of the scene with the landscape than portrait format :D (Big Grin) It was also about 20 minutes later than the wide view so the sun had changed, changing the color of the water...

My daughter and :iconleashaahooker:'s grandson were there so they got included Giggle and I thought it was cute how Caitlin was keeping a close eye (and hand) on JJ...

Yeah those colours in the water are just perfect.  I would shy away from the figures I think but only because I have only rarely put any in my paintings, but in looking again just now I think they really fit in this wonderful scene. :D

I've sent your comment on to Leasha - I'm fine with you painting my daughter, and I'm sure she'll be fine with JJ...especially since neither of their faces really show  but I'll let you know what she says!

Sure that's fine either way with me given I have lots going on, but it is such a perfect reference photograph for my style of painting. :D

Thanks Ruth I downloading the picture as it was, do you have a bigger higher resolution version of it, and if you do can you put it up in your Stash and note me link to it to download. :D

Not sure when I will get to it, but it is such a stunning picture to work from.

It's the kind of place you could sit all afternoon and it would never get old.  :-)

it was wonderful to see!  we've been socked in with smoke from so many wild fires this summer (the Yosemite Rim fire is still burning but the recent unusual rain cleared the air, thankfully!)
