wow, this is gorgeous. I really like the focused areas and just the atmosphere that the unfocused ones give. The array of colors is quite appealing as well. Very pretty :)

lots and lots of wild flowers out on our meanderings...not so many close to home yet...several types are later this year. Or don't like how wet it has been...

did you know the yellow flowers are called fiddle necks? [link]

i was told they were a non-native, invasive weed - they're all over the place at our mountain home. but after reading that wikipedia link, i see they're actually native to the west - but poisonous to livestock. i'm sure it was a cattle farmer that told me it was non-native and needs to be destroyed anywhere it shows up. it all depends on one's perspective, eh? ;)

I learned about the fiddle necks last spring because I'd never seen them...I, too, read about them being poisonous :shrug: but they sure aren't as pervasive and invasive as the thistle! I HATE those!! We're lucky that we have so much space with cattle access nearby...I know we'd get more wild flower drift but we'd also get even more "weeds"...
