did you know the yellow flowers are called fiddle necks? [link]
i was told they were a non-native, invasive weed - they're all over the place at our mountain home. but after reading that wikipedia link, i see they're actually native to the west - but poisonous to livestock. i'm sure it was a cattle farmer that told me it was non-native and needs to be destroyed anywhere it shows up. it all depends on one's perspective, eh?
