Early snow carpets the meadows just outside of Lake Tahoe...

If you use this please fav it and link me to your creation so I can add it to my "others art from my photos" gallery  I love seeing how things are used!

this is usually a rather boring meadow during spring and summer and it is really only pretty with the snow  we're standing in a grocery store parking lot :giggle:

Oh!! I have no idea why it shows out like that  and now that I look at it :wow: whoa, that's a small number :giggle: Also realize that I had the iso way too high for the scene...forgot to change it from the heavy shade where I'd been shooting the day before

Hey Ruth! Well, I would say that you elected "Av mode and the camera chose this shutter speed!! You might want to record this "number" just in case you need to use it again!! I agree with you on the ISO too (regarding the subject matter at hand)... but it looks wonderful anyway!!
I just wrote this comment to bring attention to that wild shutter speed Ruth ... I thought it was rather interesting!! :giggle:
Take care and :hug:s your way!! Lee  :D

Say, isn't that the house from The Godfather movie? ;)

They get snow up there at Tahoe in yards...Experienced a small snowstorm up there once :snowing: Just before the snowplow came by we had decided to eat Jimmy first since he was whining the most :fork: then decided McD's was only across the street so we didn't eat him ;) Jimmy hasn't been on a road trip with us since

Beautiful capture, Ruth

Couldn't say about the Godfather house, lol, I've only read the books :D

Laughed at your decision to eat the whiner  but the Donner Party was at the other end of the lake :giggle:

My daughter actually had a fellow classmate in her university who was a descendant of the Donner family - a brother that didn't leave the east on the ill-fated trip but came later...he said he came from the "smarter" branch

Here's a couple shots from a small cemetery we found that is the resting place of other "party" members: [link]

nah...we went up for the afternoon  left home at about 11:30 and were back by dark (6:30) after having dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant

The Kokonee salmon are still spawning at Taylor Creek which is where the largest mass of aspen are on the South Shore (near Emerald Bay) and since there had been a foot or so of snow early last week we decided to see what we could find...

That was a nice day for sure. Larry still talkes about that awful road going up to emerald bay and if we ever make it back I know it will take a lot of coaxing to get him to drive there again...:)

lol, it is only bad the first time :D we took it on Friday behind an incredibly slooooooow motorhome. It was painfully slow - felt like it wasn't going to make it around the two hairpin turns
